RIZOMA

Created in 2012, co-produced by Festival Paris Quartier d´Été.
'A world within a world. An open yet secret ceremony, experienced at dawn in the capital, far from the worldly noise and before going out to meet others, work or bed, in the sleepless city.' Lola Gruber.

SYNOPSIS

Seventy dancers in an outdoor space.

Between their bodies, a vast emptiness to fill.

The first movement on Earth.

The predicted disaster happened and threw us to the ground. We lost consciousness. Very slowly we began to move, like newborns, with great care not to harm nature, not to harm ourselves. We connect with each other, and together we look for natural lines of development… until we find a territory from which to depart, for the first time.

NATURE OF THE PROJECT

Rizoma is a large-scale performance that brings together around 70 professional and non-professional dancers residing in an outdoor space (whether of relevant ecological or historical significance). It premiered in Paris, in the summer of 2012, during the Festival Paris Quartier d´Été. Since then this piece, performed in different European locations (Spain, France, Holland and Italy), in Colombia and Hong Kong, has evolved in its format and today the Company has two different versions of the work: Nido and A piedi nudi.
